Summer Schedule

Please Note: August 2nd DCI Competition at Wilson Stadium, Manzano High School, 7pm.

LAST SUMMER REHEARSAL, August 7th, 6-9pm. Uniform distribution from 9-10pm at Cibola.

Dear Cibola Band Community,

I am excited about our band program and the direction that we are going! Each student should have their printed marching sheet music, CD of the show music, and summer calendar. Individual student drill coordinates will be assigned in June. Each student is expected to have the show music memorized and a good portion of the marching drill learned prior to July 16 band camp.

To assist students in being prepared for summer band camp I have scheduled the following summer band activities. Weekly rehearsals are required unless student is out of town. Please plan to arrange work schedules and other in town activities around our rehearsal schedule.

IMPORTANT SUMMER DATES:

Summer Rehearsals: 6-9pm,  July 10,12, August 7

Full Marching Band Camp: 8-5PM July 16-20 and 8-5PM July 22-27

Marching band uniforms will be distributed July 14. Freshman last name A-M 12-1PM, Freshman last name from N-Z 1-2PM, Sophomore 10AM, Junior/Senior 8-10AM,. We will be collecting the first band fee payment ($200) at that time. A parent is required to attend with the student.

Our annual Band Potluck Dinner and Parent Meeting will be from 4:45-6PM on Friday, July 20 (4:45-5:15 dinner, 5:15-6PM meeting), at Cibola High School. This meeting is required because of it's importance as we discuss and vote on the booster budget which determines student band fees.

If you plan to attend the DCI comps at Wilson Stadium on August 2nd please arrange for family transportation. If you are interrested in being part of a group discount please contact Cathleen Valencia, 890-4076, as soon as possible.

Please see 2007-08 Band Calendar (as of 5-23-07) tab found at the top of this page. Our first newsletter is also located at the top of this page. Both documents were mailed to parents on May 25. Also mailed to parents was our medical release/field trip form. Please complete the form and return at your first band activity. Thank you!

I look forward to working with you this summer and wish you the best fun in your preparation! Please call me if you have any questions, 897-0110, ext 20246, and I will return your call as soon as I am able.
